Former IRobot Exec launched Purkay Laboratories

Boston Business Journal- July 17, 2013

The Boston Business Journal recently features an article on the Purkay Labs’ launch.

Article:

Indra Purkayastha, a senior VP of product development at iRobot from 2007 to 2012, on Wednesday announced his new startup Purkay Laboratories of North Grafton, a provider of temperature and humidity intelligence systems.

The company announced the launch of AUDIT-BUDDY, which the company says is the first standalone temperature and humidity monitor for data centers.

From the news release:

“Proper data center airflow management is essential for a data center,” said Indra Purkayastha, CEO and Founder of Purkay Labs. “Purkay Labs designed and developed AUDIT-BUDDY as an inexpensive tool to solve problems experienced by managers of data centers of every size: increasing heat loads and server density. AUDIT-BUDDY enables data-center and IT managers to get a handle on data-center temperature and humidity levels at a price that will satisfy senior management.”

Prior to iRobot, Purkayastha had held various leadership roles at GE since 1982, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Purkay is self-funded and has three full-time employees, a spokesman said.
